We recently launched our Evoca TV service in Boise, ID, and multiple other markets with great success. We are actively seeking a capable Electrical Engineer to join our team to assist us in design, test, and validation of our solutions. We offer a unique opportunity to be a part of something big at an early stage. The role will report to the Lead Hardware Engineer.

You will be responsible for supporting all aspects of HW product development, testing, and support of Evoca.tv solutions. Evoca.tv has launched a consumer Set Top Box solution that combines streaming services with over the air broadcast content delivered using ATSC 3.0 standard. This allows us to deliver a high-definition experience over legacy analog U/VHF channel space. This position is to be filled by a self-starter, eager to contribute knowledge of consumer product development. Don’t worry if you don’t have all of the skills below. Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Hardware design, validation and performance characterization activities.
  • Optimize customer experiences by reproducing field issues, debugging cross-functionally and verifying solutions.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in design reviews and make recommendations to support overall test strategy.
  • Execute validation strategy and coordinate with cross functional teams to come up with detailed test plans and work with internal and external test resources on test execution.
  • Work with internal cross-functional teams and external JDM/CM to successfully bring wireless products to market.
  • Contribute to the optimization of RF conducted and OTA performance by simulation and/or lab validation.
  • Work with antenna vendors and test engineers to ensure the quality of the overall system.
  • Support EMI/EMC troubleshooting and validation.
  • Work closely with the factory test team and ensure alignment of validation and characterization plans with factory test plans.
  • Some domestic/international travel to achieve program milestones.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with WiFi, BT, Cellular, and U/VHF Broadcast RF implementations.
  • Knowledge of MIMO, Diversity RF design and implementations.
  • Schematics development and PCB Layout design in OrCAD.
  • Component selection, End of Life support, evaluation, qualification, and test.
  • Experience with serial interfaces to hardware platforms (UART, SPI, I2C, SDIO, etc).
  • Helpful to be familiar with regulatory requirements (FCC, UL, etc.).
  • Coding skills for Test Equipment Automation.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS (MS preferred) in Electrical or RF engineering or related field.
  • 1+ years experience in electronics design.
