Currently launched in Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, and Oregon, we’re on a mission to bring the best in regional sports, unique local content and nationally broadcast networks to every market across the US. We’re in search of an Embedded Software Development Leader (Manager / Director). This individual will lead the design and development of our set-top box software, including the award-winning Evoca Scout, the upcoming Evoca Pilot, and other future products. This person will manage our embedded software team and will be a senior leader in the company.


Responsibilities:

  • Successful candidates will be experts in launching modern consumer electronics products
  • Lead the team that designs and develops Evoca’s set-top box software
  • Work with software engineering partners and vendors to deliver an integrated product
  • Partner with the hardware engineering team to influence the development of new products and to triage issues
  • They will also be excellent cross-functional communicators, developing solid partnerships across the organization
  • An appreciation of diverse styles of work and inclusive work environments


The Evoca TV Software Development Leader must have:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
  • Experience in hands-on development in C/C++ for embedded systems
  • Ability to evaluate firmware architecture and tradeoffs in custom HW IP blocks or SoC design
  • Experience with people management and leadership
  • Proven experience with software bring-up on embedded platforms / SoC
  • Knowledge of computer architecture, hardware interfaces, real-time operating systems, and driver development
  • An entrepreneural, collaborative spirit

The ideal candidate will also have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in USB, PCIe, Ethernet PHY, Wifi, or Bluetooth
  • Hands-on ability and skill to diagnose issues found remotely
  • The ability to clearly communicate with partners in other companies and overseas
  • Deep understanding of video codecs, standards and implementations
  • Experience with RF tuning
