Signing up for Netflix for the first time won’t earn you a free plan, as the Netflix policy has changed.

Users have not received a 30-day Netflix free trial since 2020, indicating that Netflix no longer offers free trials when signing up for a new account.

But what if I told you that you could still use a Netflix trial offer in 2026? You could be among the 325 million subscribers to Netflix, and yet be the one person who gets to use Netflix for free!

Follow this guide for the best ways to use Netflix for free or avoid paying the full amount for a subscription in 2026.

Does Netflix Offer a 30-day Free Trial?

You might have heard about someone getting a free 30-day Netflix subscription and wondering why it’s not available to you.

As of now, no 30-day Netflix free trial is available. A few years ago, new users to Netflix were previously offered a free trial month deal, which is no longer available to claim.

However, as mentioned, there are ways you can watch Netflix for free and on a budget.

  • Third-Party Sign-Ups: Bundle with T-Mobile, Verizon, or Xfinity for free or discounted Netflix.
  • Account Sharing: Divide costs among friends to access Netflix for less, or ask to be added to your family plan under the same household.
  • Choose the Cheapest Plan: Opt for Netflix’s basic plan at $7.99/month.
  • YouTube: Watch free full episodes on Netflix’s official account

Netflix Free Trial – Verified Ways To Enjoy Free and Pay Less

A quick look at the table shows that Netflix is not available for an independent free trial. But instead, it can be clubbed with other mobile and internet providers to get free access:

Does Netflix Offer a 3-month Free Trial?

There is no active deal that can grant you a free Netflix trial for 3 months in 2026. Even when it seems to be cut-throat in the streaming services market share, Netflix does not offer a free trial to lure in new customers.

For a few days in September 2024, Netflix allowed some users to get 30 days of free access to Netflix, as part of a Stranger Things promotion. But that offer has expired and has not been renewed.

The bottom line is that Netflix does not offer a free trial of any kind, not even a 3-month, 30-day, or 2-day free trial.

Netflix Help Center Response on Free Trial Request

Netflix’s help center clearly states the unavailability of a free Netflix trial. It also states that the subscribers have the freedom to change their plan or even cancel without any commitment.

Netflix Help Center on Netflix Free trial

This saves the stress of paying unnecessarily for a subscription that you don’t like, but skips the opportunity to test the plan to see if it fits your needs before paying for a subscription. Although the base plan price for Netflix is low, a free trial of Netflix would have been helpful, as most of the Netflix competitors offer.

Netflix free trial chat with customer service agent

I tried asking the Netflix customer service chat agent about the same, but there does not seem to be any reason why Netflix is not offering a free trial. They are just not offering it as it seems.

To aid with this, there are more than 6 ways in which you can get a free Netflix subscription.

6 Ways To Get Netflix For Free Or At Low Cost (Tested)

When there’s no direct access, we tried other ways to get a free trial on Netflix and found 6 ways that allow you to get Netflix for free or at least at a reduced cost.

1. T-Mobile Offers Netflix Free

This exclusive “Netflix On Us” offer, which was restructured earlier this year, offers a free Netflix with ads subscription, usually priced at $6.99/mo for new users, at no cost. Subscribing to this offer allows you to save over $80 annually!

T-Mobile launched a new plan in January 2026 called “Better Value.” It costs $140 for 3 lines ($46/line) and includes the “Best Entertainment Bundle,” which features Netflix and Hulu for free, plus Apple TV+ for only $3/month.

T-Mobile Offers Netflix Free

However, the T-Mobile Netflix Free trial requires users to be active on two or more lines on select T-Mobile plans. Here are the available plans for T-Mobile to get Netflix for free.

  • Go5G or Magenta plan with two or more lines,
  • Go5G Next, Go5G Plu or Magenta® MAX plan
  • T-Mobile Military 55
  • T-Mobile First Responder plans

Plus, if you want to upgrade to a Netflix Premium or Netflix Standard plan, you may also receive a special discount from T-Mobile! This deal gets better. In addition to Netflix, you get free access to Apple TV+ and HULU with ads.

2. Verizon Netflix + MAX Offer

Verizon offers a perk called “Netflix & Max (With Ads)” for $10/month with their Unlimited Ultimate, Unlimited Plus, and Unlimited Welcome plans.

With a refreshed offering, Verizon now includes free Netflix, combined with MAX on its ad-supported subscription, for $10 per month.

This offer is unique as it is not limited to any specific Verizon plan, and the $10/mo/line Netflix + MAX bundle can be added to any of the Verizon plans you wish.

Verizon Netflix + MAX Offer

Unlike T-Mobile, Verizon does not require a minimum set of lines to subscribe, and also lets you combine other offers at $10 per month, like:

  • Disney+Hulu+ESPN+ Bundle
  • Apple One subscription
  • Walmart+ (includes Paramount+) subscription
  • YouTube Premium

Have a look at more details on the Verizon plans and their cost per line:

  • Unlimited Ultimate: This plan provides the most mobile hotspot data, international connectivity, and additional benefits. It costs $100/line for a single line, $90/line for two lines, $75/line for three lines, and $65/line for four lines.
  • Unlimited Plus: This plan comes with 30GB of high-speed hotspot data per line and connects to Verizon’s fastest 5G networks. It costs $90/line for a single line, $80/line for two lines, $65/line for three lines, and $55/line for four lines.
  • Unlimited Welcome: This basic plan lacks hotspot data and is limited to Verizon’s slower 5G network. It costs $75/line for a single line, $65/line for two lines, $50/line for three lines, and $40/line for four lines.

After enrolling in the “Netflix & Max (With Ads)” offer, ensure to complete the account set-up process separately for each service. Without it, you will be unable to enjoy a free Netflix or Max subscription.

3. Netflix With Comcast NOW StreamSaver

Xfinity offers Netflix free through their StreamSaver bundle for $15/month with an Xfinity Internet subscription. This package includes free Netflix (with ads), Peacock, and Apple TV+, helping you save up to 40% compared to individual subscriptions.

Netflix With Comcast NOW StreamSaver

The alternative NOW StreamSaver package at $30/month includes Netflix and NOW TV (featuring 125+ live channels), Peacock, and Apple TV+too!

Both offers require an active Xfinity Internet subscription, and additional taxes may apply.

4. Share Netflix With Family Or Friends

Another cost-effective way to get Netflix for free is through account sharing

Netflix allows users to create multiple profiles within a single account, allowing the sharing of the subscription with family or friends in the same household.

However, it’s important to note that Netflix has a specific limit of 4 devices that can stream simultaneously based on your chosen subscription plan.

You can add up to 5 members to your premium plan, which costs $22.99/month

But you may add extra members to your plan for $7.99/month for each user. This is still quite affordable if you decide to split the money, or ask for a free Netflix subscription if someone has an extra seat that is unused.

5. Choose the Cheapest Netflix Plan

Netflix offers different subscription plans, from basic to premium, each with its own features and price points. If you want to access Netflix at the lowest cost possible, consider opting for the basic plan, which costs $6.99/month

While it may have limitations, such as standard definition streaming and no access to simultaneous streams on multiple devices, it still provides access to Netflix’s extensive library of content.

This option is perfect for individuals or households who don’t require multiple screens or high-definition streaming.

6. Watch Full Episodes On YouTube For Select Series

A lesser-known way to watch Netflix for free is on YouTube. This might sound surprising, but using YouTube, you basically get a free Netflix account offering over 40+ videos that include full free episodes from:

  • Our Planet
  • Explained
  • Babies
  • Skull Island
  • Blue Eye Samurai

Based on the region, some videos (episodes) may be unavailable; however, this can help you better understand the content and quality of Netflix movies and shows. Check out the entire Netflix Full Episodes playlist on YouTube with the attached link.

Should You Use a VPN To Buy Netflix?

While Netflix supports the use of a VPN for users to stream content while traveling for its ad-free plan, I would not recommend using a VPN to buy a Netflix subscription from another country to save costs, for two reasons:

  1. It is against the Netflix terms of service
  2. It would cost you as much as a Netflix subscription does

In order to stream Netflix with a VPN, you need a reliable VPN subscription, they are available at a premium price.

For example: The base plan for Nord VPN starts from $11.99/mo. If you invest this amount into a VPN, and then go on to buy a Netflix subscription from a country with a cheaper subscription offering, eventually you will still end up paying more!

Why Netflix Doesn’t Offer Free Trials Anymore Officially?

Netflix officially ended free trials worldwide to reduce account abuse and focus on steady revenue growth. The platform found that many users exploited free trials by repeatedly signing up with new emails. As streaming competition intensified, Netflix shifted its strategy, investing more in original shows and movies to attract and retain paid subscribers.

Instead of offering risk-free trials, Netflix now provides flexible plans, letting users switch or cancel anytime without commitment. While competitors like Hulu and Amazon Prime Video still attract new users through free trial periods, Netflix now relies on its vast content library and bundled offers with partners (like T-Mobile or Xfinity) for discounted or free access.

This new approach aims to encourage long-term subscriptions while discouraging trial churning, ensuring stable growth in a highly competitive market, making free trials unlikely to return soon.
